August Foodie Favorites 🌴🍽️
As a Miami local of 5+ years, I've got high expectations when it comes to the food scene, and this month's lineup did not disappoint. Here are five spots (plus a bonus) that earned a spot on my Miami eats list this August. 🔥
1. Biltmore 🏊
We're starting with a spot that's easy to overlook: the Biltmore. Spoiler, it's not just for hotel guests!
Kick things off with the chips and guac 🥑. The tajin on those chips is delish, light, airy, with a perfect crunch and just the right amount of oil and tajin. Then order the Mahi Mahi Tacos 🌮; the cilantro aioli on these is dangerous. Round it out with a watermelon and feta plate 🍉 for a refreshing bite during this nearly unbearable Miami summer heat.
2. Joe's Stone Crab 🦀
Confession time: this was my first ever visit to Joe's Stone Crab. What kind of "gifted foodie" am I? 😅 Regardless, it was worth the wait.
We started strong with the Stone Crab Bisque, a 10/10 🙌. If you're a sucker for a creamy, hearty seafood bisque like I am, this is right up your alley.
Just when I thought it couldn't get better, out came the stuffies: ginormous baked clams stuffed with giant breadcrumbs and sausage. OMG 😍.
Then came the bibs, which can only mean one thing: it was time for the famous stone crab! 🦀
Here's what I didn't know: Joe's is also known for its fried chicken 🍗, coated in the perfect crisp. And these portions are actually massive, thank you Joe's for not serving miniscule Miami sized portions.
Dessert had me floored 🤯. The richest chocolate brownies drizzled in chocolate sauce, and without a doubt, the best key lime pie 🥧 I've ever had. Any key lime connoisseurs out there, this is a mandatory stop!
3. Eight Room (sister restaurant of Maple & Ash) 🥩
Next up, we popped by Eight Room, a hidden gem tucked next to Maple & Ash, for their Miami Spice menu.
The tuna roll slaps 🍣, the perfect amount of tuna, avocado, and a kick of spice. Naturally, we also had to spill the tea over some girl dinner: steak frites, vodka pasta, and a cheeseburger (don't forget the ketchup 🍅) for a very happy tummy.
4. Casa Neo's 🍸
We had to try Casa Neo's Lounge on the third floor, and we were not disappointed. Fun tunes and possibly the most delicious, creative cocktails I've seen in a minute.
The bluefin tuna crudo was a standout appetizer, and the black truffle pasta is officially non negotiable on every future visit. And the baklava dessert? I was in awe, a solid 10/10 🍯.
5. Nobu 🍣
For #5, we're going with a staple: Nobu. Beyond the incredible sushi you'd expect, the Salmon Nashi is such an underrated app, make sure it's on your order!
Bonus: The Joyce 🍫
And lastly, an honorable mention: The Joyce. Too dark in there for good pics 📸, but the dessert was incredible, pistachio ice cream stuffed with pieces of their Dubai chocolate bar. Also order their latkes, burger & tar tar!
