Where should I eat in Miami? June Favorites

My June Favorites: 3 Miami Restaurants I Can't Stop Thinking About

Every month, I discover a few restaurants that completely surprise me. Whether it's an unforgettable dish, incredible hospitality, or a menu I can't stop recommending to friends, these are the places that earned a spot on my June favorites list.

This month, three restaurants stood out for completely different reasons: healthy Mexican brunch at Los Félix, cozy wood-fired cooking at Walrus Rodeo, and timeless luxury at The Surf Club Restaurant.

If you're looking for your next Miami reservation, start here.

Los Félix

Coconut Grove

If you know me, you know I love finding restaurants that prioritize quality ingredients—and Los Félix absolutely delivered. One of my favorite things? Their menu is made without seed oils, which immediately caught my attention.

We ordered almost the entire menu (yes, almost everything), and while every dish wasn't a home run, the standouts were some of the best brunch plates I've had this year.

Must Order

Sweet Corn Arepa (10/10)
This completely shocked me. I'm usually not an arepa person, and I almost skipped ordering it altogether. I'm so glad I didn't. The fresh cheese, grilled oyster mushrooms, epazote pesto, and perfectly poached egg created one of the most balanced and flavorful bites of the meal.

Chilaquiles with Braised Pork Belly (10/10)
My favorite dish of the entire brunch. Crispy totopos layered with whipped sour cream, cotija, salsa, black sesame, cilantro, and topped with braised pork belly created the perfect combination of textures and flavors. Every bite had something different happening, and adding the pork belly was absolutely the right move. If you're ordering one thing at Los Félix, make it this.

Fresh Catch Crudo (9.5/10)
Some of the freshest crudo I've had in Miami. The thinly sliced pickled jicama added an unexpected sweetness that reminded me of crisp apples, while the fresh local fish tasted incredibly clean and delicate.

Also Worth Trying

  • Al Pastor Tacos for perfectly seasoned pork.

  • Grilled Day's Catch if you're craving fresh local seafood.

  • Guacamole & Totopos for a classic starter, although I personally wished the chips were a little less crunchy.

Walrus Rodeo

Upper Buena Vista

Walrus Rodeo is unlike anywhere else in Miami. The menu changes often, everything is cooked over wood fire, and every plate feels creative without trying too hard. It has that neighborhood restaurant feel that food lovers dream about.

Must Order

Bone Marrow (11/10)
Yes... an 11 out of 10.

This might genuinely be the best bone marrow I've ever had. The rich marrow paired with their incredible house bread and vibrant herb sauce made this one of the most memorable dishes I've eaten all year.

Roasted Oysters (10/10)
These completely exceeded my expectations. Roasted with jalapeño, prosecco, and breadcrumbs, they were smoky, buttery, slightly spicy, and packed with flavor. Easily the best oysters I've ever had.

Cauliflower Salad (8.5/10)
This wasn't your typical salad. The cauliflower, grapes, vintage cheddar, celery, and walnuts tasted almost like a refreshing pickled charcuterie board. Bright, crunchy, and surprisingly addictive.

Save Room For Dessert

The housemade gelato was the perfect ending to dinner. Hazelnut, chocolate, and stracciatella came together in a small but satisfying dessert that wasn't overly sweet.

The Surf Club Restaurant

Surfside

Some restaurants simply never go out of style, and The Surf Club Restaurant is one of them.

The dining room feels timeless, the service is polished, and the experience reminds you why classic fine dining still has a place in Miami.

My Favorites

Tableside Rotisserie Chicken (8/10)
Simple done perfectly. Watching it carved tableside made the experience feel special, and the chicken was incredibly juicy.

Caesar Salad (7.5/10)
Peppery, fresh, and topped with crunchy parmesan crisps that added the perfect texture.

Chocolate Layer Cake (7.5/10)
Rich, decadent, and layered beautifully with gold flakes on top. Definitely a dessert worth sharing.

And don't skip the bread service—the butter alone almost deserves its own review.

Final Thoughts

If I had to narrow it down to my absolute favorite dishes this month, these would be my top five:

🥇 Chilaquiles with Pork Belly – Los Félix

🥈 Bone Marrow – Walrus Rodeo

🥉 Sweet Corn Arepa – Los Félix

⭐ Roasted Oysters – Walrus Rodeo

⭐ Fresh Catch Crudo – Los Félix

Miami's restaurant scene never disappoints, and discovering places like these is exactly why I love what I do.
